Somehow, this combination of flavours tastes just like a chocolate milkshake. And I’m happy to have a healthier chocolate smoothie for breakfast! By using a frozen banana, you get a great consistency and it’s nice and cold. If you don’t have a frozen banana on hand, feel free to use a fresh one and throw in a few ice cubes.
And yes, I like smoothies for breakfast in the winter and hot cereal for breakfast in the summer. So there.
Chocolate Milkshake Smoothie
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1/2 cup frozen fruit (I used a blend called “Caribbean Treasure”: strawberry, peach, mango)
- 1 c. milk (skim, soy, rice, or almond)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- around 1/2 c. water (for smoothifying)
Place all ingredients except water in a blender and blitz until drinkable. You may need to add the extra water (a little at a time) through the hole at the top to thin it out enough to drink, then enjoy your breakfast dessert!
You make a great smoothie!! ❤
Awwwww, thanks 🙂
