Ohmygoodness, has it been a busy week!!
My sister’s been in town (YAY!) so there’s been lots of fun spending time with her and the family, as well as preparing for a show I did this evening… all I will say is that there was Britney Spears sung in German, and it was way outside my normal Opera Comfort Zone, but boy was it fun!
While Heather (the dear sister) and I were hanging out this week, we needed something cold and treat-like for our mid-afternoon snack. And so, this mocha smoothie was born — who doesn’t love coffee and chocolate! (Not quite as healthy as the green smoothies I’ve been drinking all week — mmm, spirulina, coconut & kale — but really fun!)

Mocha Smoothies
Serves 2, in really tall glasses
- 1 cup of triple-strength coffee (lots of flavour, less liquid) — we used decaf
- 3 big handfuls of ice cubes
- 1 heaping Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Serve and enjoy.
Optional Add-ins to smoothie — any of the following:
- 1 c. milk (almond, soy, hemp)
- 1 banana
- 1-3 tsp. sweetener of choice (honey, agave, maple syrup, sugar)
yum yum yum, i love being involved in your inventions! xo
