Giveaway: Lucky Peach Issue 8

I’ve got an extra copy of Lucky Peach (Issue 8: The Gender Issue) and I’m happy to share.

Lucky Peach is the only paper magazine I subscribe to, and I love every page of each issue.

It’s irreverent and well-written, and put together by the team of David Chang (of Momofuku fame) and Peter Meehan.

I think you need one, so I’m giving this one away.

All you have to do is leave a message in the comments by 5pm Eastern on Monday, September 2nd, letting me know your favourite food-related magazine, website, or blog. I’ll choose an entry at random and send the winner the magazine. (Official rules: you have to be in North America, and you have to leave an email address in the email field so I can contact you for your shipping address if you win).

And if you want your own subscription, check out the McSweeney’s store.

I have no affiliation with Lucky Peach or McSweeney’s, I just have an extra and want it to go to a good home.

UPDATE: September 2, 2013

And the winner is…

random

Comment #2 = Sarina from Earthgiven Kitchen! Congrats, Sarina — and check your email so I can send you the magazine!

Congratulations on your wedding…..it looked like you had a lot of fun. That magazine looks interesting…if I don’t win, I will just have to subscribe.
Fav blogs: Meghan Telpner, Russel James and yours of course…because you take me all over the world, one dish at a time.

I subscribe to so many food blogs, some for years, others more recently and I keep subscribing to more. For that reason, I am not going to pick a blog. I live in Ontario, Canada, and our alcohol sales are provincially controlled. There are beer stores, which sell only beer, and liquor stores that sell all types of alcohol. The liquor stores publish a free magazine called Food and Drink several times a year. There are articles on food and alcohol and recipes. The recipes are not alcohol-related. I just opened the issue from Summer 2012 to check the contents. One article has “delectable street foods from around the world that you can make at home” with recipes.

That magazine sounds awesome! Very intrigued. My fave food magazines are Cooks Country Illustrated and any other America’s Test Kitchen, which I adore even though I don’t eat meat so most of the recipes aren’t that useful to me. I just love how thorough they are and how they explain how they came to the exact best recipe through trial and error. Love it!
