Vegan MoFo has meant that Ashley and I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen. Today was just too beautiful to stay inside, so we went for an adventure: lunch at Tori’s Bakeshop, followed by a walk on the boardwalk.
I’ve heard lots of good things about Tori’s Bakeshop, but hadn’t been yet… they describes themselves as:
an eco-friendly, all-natural organic bakery that offers dairy-free, egg-free, casein-free and refined sugar-free treats of all sorts! We also carry a scrumptious selection of gluten free products.
Obviously, it was time to go. And what better time than now, while we are celebrating Vegan MoFo?!?!
As we walked in the front door, we both noticed the chalkboard on the sidewalk had a drawing of a Pumpkin Pour on it — organic pumpkin purée, maple syrup, spices, black tea with pumpkin & peach bits, steamed soy milk, stove-top coconut caramel, nutmeg and cinnamon. And ohhh yeah, it’s all dairy-free.
So… that happened:
After our divine sandwiches, it was time for treats — and THIS WHOLE SECTION was gluten-free AND vegan-friendly:
I love how every treat has an ingredient list with it. That way you know exactly what you’re eating!
We were totally torn between all of the options — we never get this many options!! — but finally Ash settled on an Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie:
and I hemmed and hawed, but finally went with an Organic Vanilla Donut:
So fluffy and cakey!!!
I also had to grab a Cheese & Chive Biscuit to come home with me!!!
All of the treats tasted amazing, satisfied my cravings (I have been craving donuts all week!), and worked within the parameters of how Ashley & I choose to eat. On top of that, the staff were SO lovely, and the bakery was gorgeous. We will totally be back, and I can’t wait until I’m next in the area to do so.
Tori’s, we ♥ you.
