Sometimes you just need an English Breakfast to stock up on energy for your day of adventure. The fresh local eggs from Myanmar are full of flavour — check out the colour of those yolks!
Fuelled up, we spent a morning in Ngwe Nyein village, renowned for making massive clay water pots:
We were greeted by the sweetest young monks…
… and local kids:
And after seeing all the pottery we headed back to our lovely boat for a scrumptious lunch.
Green Papaya Salad (made without sneaky fish sauce!!):
Fried Potato Skins with an Asian-inspired soy + sour cream dipping sauce:
(Please note the fresh cilantro over everything. The chef and I have similar herb loves!)
Turmeric Cauliflower:
And delicious peanutty Long Bean Salad with lots of sliced fresh shallots!
Although I would have been ok with just the salads, Chef Stuart Hickman also spoiled us with a main course of Pineapple Fried Rice wrapped in a thin omelette!!! Yeah, this is getting replicated at home.
Onwards, to more adventures!!
