Our weather turned this morning — it’s officially fall, and I’m loving it. ‘Tis the season of fuzzy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, and most importantly, soup! Now, my Mum is the soup alchemist in our family, but I’ve come up with something delicious… chickpea, fennel and summer squash, cooked in white wine with herbes de […]
One of my favourite ways to spend an evening with my dear friend Pem is in the kitchen. We have had cooking dates since we first became friends in high school, trying this recipe of her mum’s for a party, or that recipe in a cookbook that got one of us really excited. It’s the […]
Voilà! A list of all of our hummazing creations from our Month of Hummus for Vegan MoFo 2013.
Ash made something crazy this week. I’m trying to decide whether to make some tonight or wait until I get to try hers this weekend. Tonight might win.
This weekend, Ashley and I skipped our collaborative hummus-making date for a hummus-related field trip: the Toronto Garlic Festival! Because really, what’s hummus without garlic?
This hummus is fuchsia because of the addition of roasted beets — roasting everything makes them sweeter, and here I’ve roasted both the beets and garlic, so there’s lots of sweetness behind the earthy flavours.

We’ll be tweeting questions for the next 30-45 mins — Ashley Gibson (@ashleydtl) September 20, 2013 Neither of us really knew what to expect, so […]
Ashley, my hummus-co-blogger, is back to share the sweet hummus we came up with this weekend — it’s a great pairing to the Roasted Butternut Hummus because it uses the other half-can of chickpeas and the other bit of butternut squash, as well as the Masala Chai Spice Blend we posted yesterday. We’re calling it […]
Ash and I got together this weekend for another hummus date! We started with a PERFECT yoga class that has set the gold standard for yoga classes to come — it was a vinyasa class and had a really great flow that kicked our butts. I’ve started running this year, and have noticed that I […]
This is my absolute favourite hummus that we have made so far this month. We wanted it to be full of pickle flavour, so we used fresh dill, lots of garlic, and garlicky dill pickles. The resulting flavour is full of delicious dill and takes us back to memories of eating dill pickle potato chips!
